Essential Oil Blend for Trauma, PTSD, Emotional Healing | Warrior Blend | emotional support aromatherapy | The Balm Lady Apothecary
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder often triggered by exposure to stressful, distressing, or frightening events, or the sudden and unexpected death of a loved one.
The person with the disorder tends to relive the traumatic experience through flashbacks and nightmares. The severe anxiety caused by PTSD may last months or even years, and it can have a significant impact on the person's life.
Chronic stress is thought to play a role in activating and exacerbating inflammation in the peripheral immune system. Research has suggested that peripherally circulating immune cells may be able to cross the blood-brain barrier and cause inflammation in the central nervous system, which may contribute to mental health disorders, including PTSD. However, the link between fear memory and the immune system is not entirely understood.
Research is showing that individuals with PTSD have been responding well to essential oil aromatherapy.
Warrior Blend is made from a number of essential oils that have historically helped people with calming anxiety, staying present, and mood swings.
Ingredients and why they are important...
Neroli - Helps us to stay present and not reminisce of past events or worry about the future. For us to manifest what we want we must be completely in our power and be present energetically in the moment.
Neroli essential oil has been used for over a thousand years to accelerate self-actualization. It opens the heart and releases emotions of powerless and self-imposed restriction.
Frankincense - Because of its emotional and spiritual affect, the high vibrational aroma of frankincense essential oil is commonly used in prayer and meditation, helping a person drop out of their mind and Ego and move into presence with their spirit or center of consciousness.
When inhaled, it’s been shown to reduce heart rate and high blood pressure. It has anti-anxiety and depression-reducing abilities, but unlike prescription medications, it does not have negative side effects or cause unwanted drowsiness.
Orange - shows a significant effect on the behavioral response of someone who is just passively inhaling orange essential oil. Used to help ease both mental and physical fatigue and can assuage PTSD symptoms.
Copaiba - helps to keep us in the now, the present moment. We all know the challenges today of keeping a focus on the present!
Spiritually, holding onto emotional wounds holds us captive to the past and projects victim consciousness into the future. This creates conflict for the soul, and diverts us from focusing our energy on our gifts and purpose.
Geranium - Helps with insomnia, depression, and anxiety. Inhaling the aroma of geranium essential oil (or absorbing geranium essential oil through the skin) is thought to transmit messages to a brain region involved in controlling emotions. This brain region, known as the limbic system, also influences the nervous system. Aromatherapy proponents suggest that essential oils may affect biological factors, including heart rate, stress levels, blood pressure, breathing, and immune function.
Chamomile - very effective in fighting depression. It can eliminate feelings of sadness, depression, disappointment, and sluggishness while inducing a sort of happy or charged feeling. Even smelling these oils can help a lot in overcoming depression and bringing about a good mood.
